My Take on this subject is: Yes, I do indeed think that music plays a role. first off I think that it’s less hip-hop and more so Rap. there is a distinct difference. At the end of the day there is enough blame to share all over, but I think that the music deserves it’s fair share of the blame. parents deserves blame also.
The crazy thing is that in many cases Hip-hop actually has a bigger influence on our kids, even more so than the parents themselves. there is no denying music’s influence on our mentality, our fashion, on the way we treat our women, and on our culture as a whole. when someone is getting ready to do a drive-by, I bet you that they are not listening to no Kirk Franklin or Mary-Mary. Just like if your getting ready to make love, your not listening to no Rap Music (Unless Your a Super-freak)
