What advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to not be afraid to jump at opportunities. I let my fear hold me back on a lot of things. And to also to trust my judgement on people instead of constantly giving second chances

Believe it or not my younger self is the one giving advice to my older self. Over the years, as far back as 2002, I had wrote plenty of poems and motivational messages to my future self.

My past is my future’s greatest supporter. my past laid the foundation down for me. My past did most of the hard work for me. The blood, sweat, and the tears. Now the pressure is on my present self to make my past dreams come true

I would tell my old self to stop trying to be like others and be yourself. Be a leader and not a follower. I would also tell my old self to open up to people more so they can understand my identity of who I really am.

I would tell my younger self that it’s OK to be you. It’s OK to be honest as to what you feel instead of sparing people’s feelings because in the end you are the only one to be hurt! I also would have told myself to continue to push through school and not drop out senior year because all that you were facing was just momentary. Note to self: I love who my younger being prepared for this world today.

I would tell my younger self to embrace my father more and forgive him for not always being there. Understanding that life was hard on him.

The best advice that I could every give a younger Omar, is to tell him to hurry up and get grown so that Omar could be Omar! ???
