When I was young I always use to ask my mom “If African Americans are brown why are we labeled as blacks and why do they label Caucasions as whites when they are not even white” she never gave me a clear answer. Now my daughter is asking me the same exact questions.?

Now that I’m older I’m realizing that one of the main component to racism is labeling pple BLACK or WHITE. Black and White are opposite colors which psychologically and subconsciously creates competitiveness and conflict. In most countries there are many shades of color but they are only labeled as ONE RACE. Mainly here in Amercica is were we separate race by color when actuality we are all the same. We all want racism to stop but there are a lot of key ingredients we let fly right over our head…

@Lonnie great point. Can’t really argue with nothing you say. Also, the crazy thing is my daughter has ask me that before. In that same exact way.

The only demoralizing thing about trying to change the concept of labeling each other without color is that color has been so deeply rooted in our minds for years.

Also, in a perfect world the perception is that this would cure racism, but I think that racism will still exist no matter what, mainly because of hate. When hate is in your heart, there is no cure for that. And also to be real with you me personally, I think they a lot of these folk will just substitute another word for black and another word for nigger. The truth in the matter is we are indeed different. We shouldn’t have to strip away the labels. Love me for me, regardless of our differences.

@ Lonnie the way you pose the question and the way you are looking at it, if everybody actually saw it that way, this world would be a much better place. Unfortunately everybody is not cut from that same cloth.

This wolrd has people who will strap themselves up with bombs and kill themselves along with 100s of other innocent people. Just the other day someone jacked a car, there was a 6yr in the back seat and instead of just letting the baby out of the car they kill that poor innocent child.

At the end of the day color is not our worst enemy. Our greatest enemy is hate, greed, and ignorance.
